  • Primary schooling was one of the worse experiences in my life, and I was lucky enough to go to private schools with good educational programs. Other than incarceration, it is one of the only times in your life that you are legally detained somewhere against your will.

Furthermore, the things we choose to teach are so far removed from practical life skills that it all feels like a performance that is leading to a brick wall in the end. The fact that there is no standard class for budgeting, cooking, taxes, job hunting, and basic home repair in school really shows how much they actually care about your future success.

School in America is a time suck for kids so their parents can work longer.

  • Because the requirements are different. Royalty inhabit places designed to last thousands of years (castles), and they are known to be dreadful to live in. Stone walkways and stairs wear and become uneven, shifting foundations create little gaps for drafts to flow in, modern conveniences are difficult to install, if possible at all.

It is better for living humans to inhabit spaces that can be replaced and updated over time. The dead need things to stay essentially the same, and they don’t wear down the areas they reside in.

  • Not sure if this helps, but e-sims are extremely cheap and can be set up on the go through an app these days. You could get a 5g plan in the area with bad internet and use it as a hotspot to download content to your other devices. I use Nomad, but there are a lot of providers with plans that are unlimited or pay by the gig—all affordable with time periods as short as 7 days.

A $10 solution, in a pinch, is a good choice.
