I cancelled mine when Trump won and don’t miss it at all. Most places will ship for free nowadays and charge the same prices as Amazon. I teach at a business college and a ton of my students buy Chromebooks because they’re cheap and just use cloud-based software. Windows is doomed as an OS because an entire generation has grown up never using it.

If it helps, you can get pop os with Nvidia drivers pre-installed and configured. That helped me a lot.

I am using an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Processor and ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC Edition 16GB.

In steam, I use GE-Proton10-10 for the compatibility tool and for the launch options I have: PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 SteamDeck=1 gamemoderun %command% -PSOCompileMode=1

I found the PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 part to be what made the difference for frame-rate.

With a little bit of tweaking I got Marvel Rivals running with a higher and more consistent framerate on Pop OS vs what I had on Windows.

This was also with an Nvidia card.

I’m finally back on Linux after a while away. I went with pop os just to have the Nvidia drivers pre-installed. I used Mint back in grad school and liked it.
