It’s strange here in the US too. I don’t know anyone that has a problem with that. That kind of puritanical attitude about drinking is not the prevailing sentiment here. Sure, my friends and I aren’t getting plastered at BBQ’s like we did in college, but it’s not like we aren’t having some beers at a cookout just because half of us have kids now. It’s just a vocal religious minority making a lot of noise. Don’t get me wrong, this country does have a different, more uptight, relationship with alcohol than Europe, but it’s not nearly as extreme as it may appear online and in media.

I agree there. Despite being a horrible person off screen, Ezra Miller can actually act with good material, We Need to Talk About Kevin, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower are proof of that.

I think as you alluded to, the bigger problem was that Snyder’s take on Barry Allen was ill-conceived from the beginning. Ezra may have been a good fit for Snyder’s vision for the character but his vision was Barry Allen in name only.

I find it very amusing that the CW managed to do the character so much better for nine years and with a fraction of the resources.

  • Hamlin pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty brought against him and four of his fraternity brothers in 1980, when he was an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. The charge was brought against Hamlin under a local Ann Arbor ordinance. All five members of Alpha Delta Phi were later expelled from the fraternity.

The details of the case, described in local media reports at the time, are gruesome. The house cat was captured, its paws were cut off, and was then strung up and set on fire. The killing, which occurred in December 1979, was allegedly prompted by anger that the cat was not using its litterbox.

This is all you need to know about the average gun nut piece of shit that stands in the way of meaningful change to address this country’s unique problem with daily mass shootings. Violence and cruelty are not an issue to them. They’re features.

  • Farva : Give me a double bacon cheeseburger.

Burger Guy : [into mic] Double baco cheeseburger. It’s for a cop.

Farva : What the hell’s that all about? You gonna spit in it now?

Burger Guy : No, I just told him that so he makes it good.

[into mic] Burger Guy : Don’t spit in that cop’s burger.

    Farva : Yeah, thanks.

Second Burger Guy : Roger, hold the spit.

    Farva : Gimme a pie… apple.

Burger Guy : Want me to hold the spit? Hah, just kidding officer Farva.

Burger Guy : Want me to dimpa-size your meal for 25 cents?

Farva : Want me to punch-a-size your face, for free?

Burger Guy : It’s only 25 cents, and look how much more you get.

Thorny : Look, kid, he doesn’t want it.

Farva : I can handle this, Thorn. I don’t want it!

Burger Guy : Uhh, right. Beverage?

    Farva : Gimme a litre o’ cola.

    Burger Guy : What?

    Farva : A litre o’ cola!

Burger Guy : [into mic] Litrecola? Do we sell litrecola?

Thorny : Will you just order a large, Farva?

    Farva : I don’t want a large farva. I want a goddamn litre o’ cola!

Burger Guy : I don’t know what that is!

Farva : Litre is French for… give me my fuckin’ cola before I break VOUS FUCKIN’ LIP!

  • “In other news the local distribution centre has restructured its operations to streamline customer synergy and unfortunately has had to let its administrative assistant go to persue other interests.”

The thing about this is that I just made that up, no source, nothing to verify and given that the article identifies a person with full name and place, as well as their role and industry is likely to be uniquely identifiable and a prime candidate for being fired…

… unless the story was made up or the intent is to assassinate either the company or the person.

Ask yourself, who is the intended audience, what does the author of this article intend to achieve and will this article achieve that?

    1. Frank Grimes is a one-off character from a cartoon called The Simpsons.
    2. The Hard Times is a satire website.
    3. The man mentioned in the article does not exist.
    4. You are commenting in a community for shitposts about The Simpsons.
