Goddamn, yeah. I dont play a lot of competitive multiplayer, but I actually was decent at tribes ascend. I remember in whichever game mode where you have to hold the flag for as long as possible I was pretty decent. I wasn’t great at shooting people, but once I got that flag I could skate so fast it was tough for people to catch me.

Simply nothing like it nowadays.

You didn’t, I’m just saying that since there are many great switch games that run just fine it’s not quite a hard pro and con situation where the switch experience is always so poor that it’d make the Deck a sheer upgrade worth the money.

Just depends on how much you value that performance, I’m able to get used to 30 FPS pretty decently, so the Switch is much better for me at the price point and ease of use, but I know there’s definitely a contingent of players who really value performance and your comment comes into play for them.

Not every switch game runs poorly.

I kinda like it, but I’m also used to it since I played them in release order. I like not having to worry about replenishing cores, I like not having to cock guns after firing them, I like being able to hold infinite animal skins and such, and that you just sell everything and don’t need to worry about crafting and stuff.

2 is awesome too, but it leans more sim and 1 is more “arcadey” is a short way to explain the difference.

Can you grind post game just for fun and it lacks any progression or reason, or does the game definitively end?

It’s a good fit for a portable system, surprisingly, due to all the different activities. You can throw it on, run a couple bounties or just play some cards, and put it back away.

When they eventually put it on sale I’m sure it’ll be more appealing to more people, the price is up there, but they really did put work into the port job and it shows.

The Red Dead port is pretty awesome because it’s Red Dead, runs well, and looks good still. No dynamic resolution abuse here! Having Red Dead poker on the go is awesome, and while the lack of gyro aiming is a bit sad, it’s got that standard Rockstar hard snapping aim assist, so as long as you’re okay with that, then it’s no huge deal.

Out of town, so that means the Switch, or more accurately, Red Dead Redemption. Still an absolutely amazing game. Rock solid port, the only slowdown I’ve noticed is when riding a horse through Thieves’ Landing.

It’s actually really great to have a portable nice single player Poker game I can just pick up whenever. It’s made it a lot easier to try and bust out the whole table, I can keep the poker game going for days on end.

It’s hard to really say, when they vibrate, depending on the intensity that the game feeds the controller, the vibration is absolutely audible, it will never be silent, so it is a little hard to say with no audio feedback whether they’re louder than they’re supposed to, depending on the game.

I’ve only ever heard players saying they love the shit out of it and haven’t seen anyone saying they ended up disliking it or growing bored. I’d like to know people’s generally play hours, though, too

Its not necessarily a kid’s game, but that is their primary demographic and player base out of some fusion of being easy to run, simple games being easier to create, the art style, the accessibility and short term gratification of easily jumping between experiences.

I use a program called The Hat in which you can add text entries to a list and then randomize their order. When I want to play a game, for instance, I’ll throw in 3-5 that I’d be okay with playing, and then let fate decide.

As long as you don’t allow yourself to veto the randomization and second guess, I’d say that method works pretty well. If I only have two choices sometimes I flip a coin
