i guess it’ll be my birthday present to myself.
i had cut all costs i was willing to, and just started a side hustle the last couple of months. the breathing room is sooo nice, and the work is easy enough (per sitting at other people’s houses via rover).
serious: i love truck stop egg salad sandwiches. don’t tempt me!
[united states] i use a credit card for anything that i can. the perks are nice (as others have mentioned), and i never spend more than i have. i’ve never paid a penny in interest. i always pay the statement balance on the day it’s due.
both clever and not scraping and saving usernames to some mass database (as far as i can tell).
all my crochet projects are on hold until it cools off a bit. the sensation of sweaty hands and yarn is a no-go for me.
the company i work for switched to half day fridays, which i typically use to tie up loose ends. it works really well! and i still get a little bit of work done without feeling like i’m barely scraping by.
nobody should work on friday afternoon. (i say while working on a friday afternoon.)
i’ve had the chance to see their work, and they’re bringing good into the world. i care less about where the money is going and more about the net positive for the folks who otherwise wouldn’t have it without the “greedy backers.”
very happy i landed a job doing web work for mostly non profit clients. a few lawyers here and there, but we need them, too.
yes! flexbox is great for this.
wholeheartedly agree! css has been my main job for going on 15 years because i’ve always enjoyed its quirks. the past 5 years or so have felt like leaps and bounds in terms of how i structure markup and styling. it’s such a fun language to learn. stuff like flex and grid make my work so much easier so i can spend more time on the fun stuff.
i think about this article a lot whenever i hear about tailwind.

my current vacuum is going on 11 years. pretty proud of that $200 purchase. i’ve had 2-3 dogs at any given time, and this thing is a champ.
