These guys are mad that Bidens administration hasn’t been as friendly to mega corps, venture capital and crypto. Chamath specifically has had some SPACs get questioning from the SEC bc he wasn’t being honest about the companies. If I remember correctly during the GameStop short squeeze, Palihapitiya repeatedly attacked Robinhood and its founders for being unethical by selling payment for order flow to HFT firms like Citadel Securities and pushed his fans to switch over to SoFi, which was merging with his SPAC. yet failed to mention that SoFi employs the same practice of selling payment for order flow to HFT firms (including to Citadel Securities) and owns a 16% stake in Apex Clearing Corp, a clearing house involved in the controversy

You know… I’d believe Elon is petty enough to actually put something like that in.

I agree I mean how many times in the past couple of years have large sites or services gone down because an update was pushed through. Most recently I can think of teams going down earlier this year.

Other things that irritated me when I recently switched from android to iOS:

The keyboard doesn’t have the numbers along the top. Didn’t realize how much I used digits when typing stuff out so switching back and forth is annoying.

When typing long text messages I find it impossible to just click higher or scroll up to reread what I typed

Speaking of messaging the fact I can only do emoji reactions with such a limited range is really amazing especially in 2023-2024

The calculator doesn’t show you what you typed in….maybe I’m the idiot but I can’t figure it out

No ability to do Picture in Picture especially with FaceTime, so everytime I leave the app to look at another window it always blacks the video out

Printing things from my phone is so difficult now

Apple Pay for some reason only works when I double click the side button before placing the phone near the reader rather than scan and then double click

Speaking of wallet I can’t transfer in a local public transit commuter card from android….i need a physical card or number to scan. There is no option to manually enter that I can see

The action button why can I only do 1 action and not multiple with a click and then a hold option?

Speaking of action button I have mine set to silent bc if I keep clicking the volume down button it doesn’t automatically put the ringer on vibrate and then silent

Which leads me to why in gods name can I not turn off send noises from any app? I don’t need to hear the swoosh sound every time.

Really need a new term for just OTA updates with more and more software being rolled out into cars. The title makes it sound way worse than it actually is.

I also like their price matching and have used it quite a few times although they’ve gotten more strict about Amazon listings.

I mean the 2023 ESV sport platinum is MSRP 108k and you get 14/16mpg. So I mean if you were already looking at one and you now get 450miles per charge it may be worth it.

I would be curious if all these influencers pushing FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon) where they got paid for the original thought because there is so much junk flowing into Amazon now especially people trying to use Amazon’s logistics.

I can’t imagine there is great margin for a product listed on Amazon if half of every sale is given to Amazon for commission.
