I’d rather use Haiku on such horrible hardware if it’s hardware compatible and I had no other hardware choice. Newer computers can do things far more efficiently, and smart phones costing ~$100 are safer for banking and often more capable otherwise. People try to make Linux the solution to everything when it’s horrible for most things. -It’s cultish behavior.

Most of us (normal people) are on Windows 11 and happy with it. The majority of those that aren’t are holding out due to the hardware requirements. -Shock to conspiracy theorists.

Repositories are what can make or break a distro, and OpenSUSE’s sucks. Way too dependent on distro-agnostic software (bloat).

You’re grasping. The whole OP is grasping.

“This will happen to Office 2021 and 2024 in the future”
not stated by the article
The Verge article isn’t making any of these ridiculous claims.

It looks like a conspiracy theorist site, and the article comes across as, but both are legit.
im sure linux will solve these problems someday.
Problems are inherent and haven’t been solved for 3 decades. You have unstable API/ABI in the kernel making Linux unfriendly for desktop (Android resolves it in their own way). You have anti-developer attitudes from users that drive the already poorly if not volunteer developers to quit or sellout. (Linux hates developers.)
BSD has a slightly different license (still FOSS), and they don’t get the toxic community that Linux has.
Sock puppet accounts, and Federation making brigading easier. There’s no vote fuzzing, anti-brigade heuristics, IP-based rate limiting across instances, shadow detection or algorithmic smoothing. -Reddit has all that but still has vote manipulation problems.
It’s just another Linux propaganda issue that shows more on Lemmy. -But at least Lemmy doesn’t promote based on vote score.

If you took the value (not just available money but full worth) of all billionaires (if they sold everything they had) it wouldn’t come close to paying off the debt. It would also significantly affect things way more than taxing the “poor”. Tariffs might be able to do it.
And when it comes to humans: “Almost all neonaticides are committed by mothers.” - https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC2174580/
His value or worth is far more than what he ‘has’. I’m all for lowering min. wage. Competition in the work force should be a thing and parasitic unions should be ended.
Bezos paying min is far from the worst thing he’s done. Copying a product and underselling (at a loss) to put companies out of business for example. He should have to reimburse in this life, as there is no other.
Other programs like Photoshop lose money though. FOSS devs should just quit as they’re their own competition.
Stupid AI, the Q is upside down.

It’s really not a matter of ‘working hard enough’. Financial discipline, learning trades (skills), not being depdendent on a single source of income, avoiding addictions and expensive habits, etc can play a part in financial security.
edit: I don’t know what H-1B is though.
Animals sometimes are more comfortable in a cage because it makes them feel secure. -Like a cave for a dog or cat.
‘sorry sorry’ - better than the meme! lol
It is now! (at least for me)
Karma farming isn’t a thing here. You don’t get anywhere by making these virtue or ideology signaling posts.
