My experience, there have been probably 2-3 instances that soak up and revel in the drama (for both microblogging and Lemmy) - everyone else just blocks bad actors like normal and moves on with their lives.

Agreed. There is an emerging trend among Fedi artists to use Faircamp, but it doesn’t exactly fill the same void.
