Let’s see…who owns WhatsApp?
Mark Zuckerberg.
Yeah don’t get your hopes up.

Well, it’s better than what could’ve happened. I’ll accept this.
Yeah because I’m angry at Windows for some of the dumbest shit it’s done for a while now.
And I’m still angry whenever I’m on Linux because it’s progress is taking too long for it to be embraced more comfortably when it comes to compatibility. I’d like for more things and development to work with even the most known Linux OSes. Just pick 5 of the best Linux OSes out there and develop for them. It worked for Ubuntu for awhile until that randomly got dropped by some manufacturers.
Until then I’m just angry to be on Linux because I know I can’t 100% run everything I want to on it as I did Windows.
That’s a little dramatic.
I don’t think they’ll ever become an IPO.
But it’s more likely that if Gabe doesn’t have someone or something in mind that keeps Steam on track, there’s few companies that can buy it. Microsoft could acquire it. Sony could acquire it. Epic games could acquire it.
Companies that would have no care or clue in how to keep Steam as is.
Oh sweet summer child, it’s the internet, what’s the excuse anymore that nobody knows of any alternatives?
It’s pure laziness and admittance of guilt at this point.
Lot of truth to this.
Facebook users know very well that Mark has spent the last 10 years, bastardizing Facebook in every way he can. It’s not a good place for security. He doesn’t give a shit about your privacy. He no longers rely on actual people to help step in and resolve on-site problems, rather rely on a stupid hub system and he’s high on his stupid metaverse shit.
Yet, billions are still there.
Reddit, same way. The worst part about Reddit and even Twitter users is the mental gymnastics they’re willing to go through, to justify and rationalize why they’re staying.
Can they really fuck up any more than they’ve already fucked up?
I don’t know about you, but the only thing I can see that Reddit could do that’ll fuck them up is either taking porn away because their shareholders demand it or they fall out of favor with the stock market because Wall St realized how much of an idiot spez really is to them.
KBin did exist back then last year. The problem with KBin right now is the guy running it is having personal issues and the magazines there are getting swamped by bots and spam. And there’s nobody there to kick them out.
That’d be fucking hilarious.
Then we’d just see reddit users arguing with these bots like as if they’re people. Because they’d totally do that.
Not like Reddit is any different, there’s just a lot more of it.
“Sorry bruh! Your account needs to be 1 year old to post!”
“Sorry buckarino! Your account is just too damn young!”
“Sorry! But we like intelligent conversation in this subreddit” While the content of the subreddit consists of people asking braindead questions and low-hanging fruit content.
“Sorry! Please read all of the rules that subscribed members of our subreddit regularly break, but not YOU!”
The day Spez decided to turn his shitty circus into an IPO, was the last warning bell.
Did anything that happened from last year tell anyone anything over there? No because a large amount of Reddit users are lost causes, they can’t cope getting outside their comfort zone. They’re like Facebook users, too drugged up on their insatiable need to be righteous, to be validated, to feel like they’re heard and to play up to an audience who more than likely would not like them if they met them in person.
Soon we’re going to find Spez saying the exact same thing Mark said - “Dumb fucks”.
From all of the times I had spent in your subreddit, the admins were always rubbing their hands together to find any and all excuses to nuke your subreddit. Every other moderator announcement it was always about trying to meet admin demand after admin demand but it was never enough. It’ll never be enough.
We don’t need them. If they’ve spent years, shitting on the communities they’ve hogged all this time, what does one think they’ll do when they come here?
The worst that they can do is run their own instance, but it’ll be away from the rest of us.
That’s exactly the gesture I gathered when all of the subreddits opened back up. “Please! Please! Don’t take away what little control we have over everyone because we live insufferable lives because we barely control a single thing in it! We’ll comply!”
Yeah, great little movement you did there, guys…
There is a silver lining in this.
It’ll take Lemmy a long time to even get to a quarter of the user base Reddit has. I estimate probably 10 ~ 20 years. So that’s a good couple decades to enjoy things here while we can. By then, we’d be too old to give a fuck anymore.
HOW DARE YOU SUGGEST I GOOGLE SEARCH?! I KNOW EVERYTHING IN EXISTENCE AND I’LL DEMONSTRATE THAT BY BLOCK SWIPING YOU WITH A SNARKY RETORT AFTER I’VE DUG THROUGH YOUR POST HISTORY TO SAY SOMETHING ENTIRELY IRRELEVANT TO THE TOPIC!
/s
Simple. A lot of people practice their self-indulged superiority on there. I mean, where else can you freely kiss moderator ass to get the desired results you want while alternatingly, make so many alts to shit on everything everyone tries to enjoy on there?
It’s a huge power-trip. And Spez is the fucking ringleader.
This is perhaps some of the best news I’ve read and heard about for a while.
It was scary close, though. It could’ve gone either way.
Go ahead, prepare your fucking lawsuit, lobbyists. We collectively should be suing you, for all of the times you lied your ass off about spreading broadband to areas you PROMISED you’d bring service to!
Buzz killers for sure, too. Like, people should be going on dates to try something new and as a way to try and overcome their problems. They’re attempts, at least.
If all that you’re going to do is dump trauma onto someone in a scenario like this. They didn’t fail, you did.
I’m glad that it seems like he’s extended the longevity of his life by losing a lot of weight. Have you seen him now? Looks amazing for his age. I think if he continued where he was, he might’ve passed away at some point or be in a worse condition.
He needs as much time as possible to decide what he’s going to do after he’s gone.
