I’ve said what? How do you know what I’ve said since before I was born?

Yeah, makes sense to North Korea, too. I’m not sure they’re an example to follow, though.
To be clear, nation states controlling the tools that their employees and, potentially, wider population communicate and access information is a dystopian vision, and I cannot agree with that point at all.
Wow, what a way to take the most extreme POV possible on an issue.
Funny newspaper treating this like a normal election. If Trump wins the election, democracy and the very idea of future elections are under threat.
Shitty tech opinions were flooding Medium before, so it’s not much of a difference.
We have a company that sends us fake phishing attacks every month, logs who clicks on the bad link, and publishes the results of the survey to the CTO.
Seems like a position as important as MP should have something similar set up for their governmental email accounts.
No, you can blame the non-voters. The ones who thought it was great idea to get pissy about one issue and stay home. Or “both sides” their way into an idiotic stance.
And in 2026, you can also blame the non-voters. The ones who elected Kamala president, but are too stupid to understand that voting is an annual process, and Kamala isn’t a fucking queen that can enact anything she wants without the support of a democratically-elected Congress.
Vote twice a year, every year. Every. Fucking. Time. Why is that so hard to understand?
EDIT: All of you people bitching about the war in Gaza should stop and think about what would happen to Gaza if Trump got elected. You have two choices, and staying at home just forces one of those two choices for you.
This is a sentence with words, but the arrangement makes no sense. You sure you didn’t generate that from ChatGPT?
Always has been 👨🚀🔫
Money and a chance for power, obviously.
A dump truck specifically, one that you can drive a tube through.
Too bad FTC rules are useless, thanks to SCOTUS striking down the Chervon ruling.
Hey [email protected], remember what we were talking about a page or two up? This is one of them!
I think some Democrats are better at it than others. Their approach has been wildly different since Harris took the scene. It’s been less of trying to debate the policies that the GOP doesn’t even have, and more of just pointing out how fucking bizarre this shitshow has been.
Then there’s the other type of brainwashed idiots, the kind who even after all that has been said and done in the past eight years, insist like a scratched CD on the divide-and-conquer propaganda (strongly pushed by the right) that bOtH pArTiEs ArE tHe SaMe.
These are the kinds of idiots who actually post on Lemmy, too. Completely proud that they are “sticking it to the man”, while parroting whataboutism and false equivalency.
What’s a good web search engine nowadays?
Most in the US are already pretty tired of it. I don’t expect it to last another 50 years, but good luck trying to change it now. It still requires a constitutional amendment, and right now, we’re fighting with a party that has half the votes and wants to drag us into a corporatocracy.
Let’s solve that fucking problem first before we move on to constitutional amendments!
3 * 2 = 6
3 + 2 - 1 = 4
So, close enough? How “close to 1” are you talking about?
If they didn’t want to be annexed by China, they shouldn’t have signed a treaty to do so.
It’s not illegal if it’s not being enforced.
No, most have said that other elections are important, because voting is important and people need to get out to vote in order for their voice to be heard.
Now that Trump has broadcasted his racism, bigotry, hatred, and a thousand other things that would single-handedly end a campaign, including raping his wife, raping a 14-year-old, giving top secret info to Putin which got federal agents killed, hoarding boxes and boxes of top secret documents, and sooo many fucking other things that would take 20 pages to list. Now that he’s broadcasted all of that, and the propaganda networks that his base watch has filtered everything so well that none of his base actually give a shit, the GOP now has no reason to hide behind their real goals: dismantle government so absolutely that nobody would ever be able to repair it again.
If Trump is elected, it would not take long for that Reichstag fire event to happen that would solidify their position in power.
“I don’t want to abolish government. I simply want to reduce it to the size where I can drag it into the bathroom and drown it in the bathtub.” – Grover Norquist
The rich don’t want a dictatorship. They want anarcho-capitalism, a corporatocracy, a kleptocracy, or any sort of similar concept that would give corporations ultimate power to do whatever the fuck they want, despite the objections or ignorance of the people. That sorta kinda isn’t a democracy.
Or they’ll still settle on a dictatorship, as long as they get to pull the strings in enough directions.
That’s a nice false equivalency you got there. BSABSVR, ammirite?
There’s only one side that consistently pushes their agenda for the rich and powerful.
