Oooh, it has been a while since I started avoiding large chunks and forgot that one.
Also known as snooggums on midwest.social and kbin.social.

I live pineapple on pizza.
There is one issue with how pineapple is frequently used on pizza, and that is heat retention. When pizza has large chunks of pineapple they tend to stay hotter a lit longer than the rest of the slice, so even after the sauce has cooled to less than magma temps, the large pibeapple chunks are atill able to melt rocks.
The solution is smaller pineapple chunks of course, and that is even better with ham since it ends up more evenly distributed on the slice in addition to improved temperature consistency.
Well, their products have been going downhill so I suspect that 25% was AI genersted and then their QA is less effective because there are no devs doing unit testing.
Selling AI as a solution for everything is absolutely a lie. Modern snake oil in nearly all the public facing uses.
There are a lot of good uses for AI in science and entertainment as a way to enhance work being done by humans. Pattern recognition for lidsr in finding kist civilizations. Finding exoplanets. Finding new compoubds for medicine and manufacturing.
Hell, there is even some usage for some personal things and LLMs are great at addressing certain people’s hesitation when interacting with computers. But like the prior examples, it can’t solve anything on its own. It must be controlled and thigs like search engines and processing job applications are terrible uses for AI when humans are having trouble doing that thing already.
AI only works for technical work that requires precision when it is doing something humans were already good at. It can do a lot of those things faster, but has to be babysat if the output matters.
While capitalism is definitely a big part of it, the desire to control others for non-monetary reasons plays a huge part in it as well. LGBTQ+ harassment and abortion bans don’t really play into the capitalist goals, they are there to cause suffering.
The internet has proven that the majority of the population doesn’t want to think for themselves. That part of the population wants to be told what to think so they can fit into a group and feel better than some other group because we are social animals and that tended to work out for the vast majority of humanity’s existence.
This includes people who do positive things to fit in too, and I don’t think free thinkers are special, they are just not in the majority.
There was never a point in time where a single person could change even the majority of people’s opinions.
SCOTUS ruled that the president can do whatever he wants and that means he should use that power to remove the 6 conservative judges, Trump, and the others attempting a coup on the nation. Using the power to stop a real coup would be looked upon favorably in the future, but Biden won’t because he still thinks that there is some kind of middle ground that can be reached with Republicans.
Fuck it man, just clean house before you retire.
It’s not outside capital that leads to enshittification, it’s leverage that enshittifies a service.
Technically more precise, but for companies the leverage doesn’t really exist without the outside capital. Musk taking over twitter was the use of capital to get the leverage.
I can’t think of any business where the owner did a 180 without catering to outside capital or the company being bought out by outside capital.
That out of the way, FSD sucks, and it’s getting worse, not better. When if first come out of beta it was okay. I remember describing it as driving with a teenager, they got the general idea, but would make bad decisions so you had to watch them. Years of updates later and it’s practically unusable to me. It tries to go way under or over the speed limit, it hesitates or slams on the brakes for green lights. It slams on the brakes for cars that pull out with plenty of gap but doesn’t even notice the risky merges. It can not seem to navigate intersections anymore, damn near stopping in the middle of a turn. It actually just updated yesterday and I tried it again, it took me less than 5 miles to disable it again. It is, in my opinion, a hazard to use. I talked to my partner about it and we both agree it didn’t used to be this bad.
Sounds like it still drives like a teenager!
Which of course is terrible since it should be improving over time.
Elon says a lot of things and they are all bullshit.
The ability to comprehend and make use of knowledge based on changing contexts. An algorithm doesn’t have the ability to understand why it is doing what it does, nor does it have a way to apply itself outside of a predefined context.
AI means Artificial Intelligence.
It means Alpaca Insurance!
Also, that is an algorithm and not intelligence. Logic isn’t the same thing as intelligence.
I love how often the translate option shows up in weird places.
Who determines the percentage?
People have access to the information now to know who the liars are, but they choose to ignore it.
That would require parties to follow through on their platforms to work.
For example, Republicans say they value life but do the opposite by forcing women to die because they can’t access medical care for unviable pregnancies. They say they want border reform but vote against bills that would fund the courts that process immigrants. They say they willl lower taxes for the common person, but lower it for the top 1% and raise them for everyone else.
Platforms are great and all if they meant anything.
Trading thrills for being content and curious still leads to enjoyment of new things without the need for it to be exciting. It might be less intense, but still very enjoyable.
He forgot to use counterspell!
