    when i use sites like these, i generally don’t make accounts in the first place because, why would i need one?

    bookmarks are my friend, and i don’t really need to be notified of new uploads, i have rss feeds for that.

    i think the issue with peertube really is that it is so out there, like beyond the needs of what people really want in any kind of video sharing platform.

    which is mostly entertainment.

    i see peertube as a front for informational videos, documentaries, vlogs for grassroots orgs and such, which is the reason i use peertube in the first place, also why i don’t make an account.

    i think many people who use the site are like me when it comes down to that, and in all honesty, it should stay that way because we all know what happens when video streaming sites, or any site for that matter, gets popularity.

    ofcourse, it would be nice to have a server specifically for entertainment, which i know many exist, but it just doesn’t meet the expectations for some people who use the main web like youtube or even odysee for that matter.

    and the only reason why anyone would upload entertainment vids would be for money unfortunately so, but it’s a given regarding the current systems we live in.

    until there is incentive to move to peertube, i’m afraid numbers will stay low

    as for what you listed, i think those would be nice additions to peertube, but it’s definitely not the sole reason as to why it is dead

    love this, this response is most needed to such a weird choice we are given

    simplicity (not iphone) outbeats all the unecessary shit on phones nowadays

    if i wanted 4k, i’d buy a camera.

    once again companies appealing to the masses by putting stupid gadgets for them to play with on machines that were already perfected, which ends up making the product pricier, and in total if sold well, becomes the expectation for future designs.

    it’s an oroborus of shitty marketing that just keeps feeding itself the money of the dumbs who choose to support the nasty behaviours of these predatory companies.

    it’d be nice to have actual options when it comes to choosing a device, but now it all comes down to what brand, and not about what function you want.
