What frustrates me is that China is indeed leading so much technological development on energy, but the amount of coal being burnt is just not budging… Please, China. Make the transition already.

Ah yeah, I thought he was drafted. Thanks!

Thanks for reading more carefully than me!

I can’t find anything on Walter Hallstein and Adolf Heusinger being nazis or committing war crimes. Looks like the former was an academic drafted in the army and the latter a high-ranking officer who began his career before the nazis.
I get that Heusinger can be seen as complicit (he must have known for whom he worked and didn’t quit), but what about Hallstein?
Haha in Belgium, regular cups for beer would be the appropriate footed glass of course. 😛 But yeah, basically plastic cups with customized decoration.
Nope, in Belgium the students are binge drinking in “eco-cups” which are reusable.

I love to see Meta lose, but I couldn’t care less that “legacy media” lost ad revenue. This money should be paid to the public for being targeted with illegal privacy practices.

Fucking hell, y’all make me realize how lucky I am with my bank that runs without gapps.

Wow, I admit that’s reaally bad 😅

Damn… The two extremes of the cyberpunk dystopia: no tech at all vs tech slavery.

Some people have no smartphone at all. How can they be customers at your bank?

It looks more like a Savoy cross than Danish.
What do you mean by rechasing the dragon?

I feel like we’re skipping steps… This kind of tech is incredible and has huge potential. But it needs vast amount of energy and we’re making the planet uninhabitable by the minute. If we first developed tech to have clean energy, I would be overjoyed. Here I feel mostly dread.

Ah dang. :( Thanks for the heads up, I thought I found something nice…

I switched to Deezer!

There’s also a “simple english” Wikipedia: simple.wikipedia.org
Now we have elastics and stretchy fabric. I guess it was more difficult to have a firm and comfortable hold with loose fabric.

Sure! Here’s a nice article by Mireille Elchacar, lexicologist and professor at TELUQ university.
The relevant portion:
Le 8 mai 1673, l’Académie française tranche en faveur de l’orthographe savante « qui distingue les gens de Lettres d’avec les Ignorants et les simples femmes ».
My translation:
The 8 of May, 1673, the French Academy decides in favor of a scholarly orthography “which distinguishes literary people from the ignorants and simple women”.
Yikes! That’s the basis of the “etymologic” or rather pseudo-etymologic orthography of French. The French Academy is still the authority for the French language, a remnant of the Ancient Régime. To my knowledge, they haven’t retracted this statement since and to my judgement they still adhere to it by their actions and decisions today.
Yeah, I hope that the renewables will continue exponentially… I agree that the growing share of renewables in the mix is awesome, but in the end what matters is each ton of CO2 emitted. And we’re not going in the right direction :(
