3 months agoTechnicians entering data too fast caused error 54. Come on… their software was running bad code to check form fields. This is like letting a web form cut off your arm.

I’ve been saying for the past two years that Apple should stop doing business in the EU, but every time that I bring that up someone points out the manufacturer of the chip making machine is based in the EU therefore no one can pull out.
Gross.
So say we all.
I prefer the obvious product placement in old movies, tv shows. How funny it is to see product placement all over the place on the kitchen shelves of Seinfeld, the sugar cookie of Honey I Shrunk the Kids.
The list could go on.

1·6 months agoSearch your model and check if it is a “shingle” storage. Mine is, and it uses a method to write data that is slow and can appear damaged.
If it is, and you have been writing and deleting content, it can become slow. I use this for pure storage and it works fine. No deleting stuff though.
I avoid this tech on new drives, as it is very slow.

2012 prius-c, physical air-conditioning temp knob, physical buttons for everything. Added CarPlay receiver, and it’s the perfect vehicle. No electronic “syncing” to be done. Just works.
27·10 months agoTrying to put a value on open source, there will never be a value to equal what open source provides the people.
How do you put a value on somebody’s passion who works hours long to create something free of charge.
So weird because as a kid, I would rent these video games day 1 from the local library… free of charge.
What is the issue now that they are retro. Shame.

I said this above, and more needs to be said. Insurance companies have raised the rates of basic, liability only, for a salvage title car, by more than 70% increase in the last 3 years. $440/6mo > $770/6mo.
This is an attack on all motorists in a way I’ve never seen, and a further attack on new car owners who are unwittingly being sold these cars by car dealerships.
Financially attacking everyone for two car models that have been designed to be targets of “model”, and to allow children to make a mess of their futures. What leverage can we possibly have against this exploitation?

Was going to say, it seems as though people in Japan, just use tech differently.
As someone who just updated from an iPhone SE2020, the same body as the iPhone 6, I waited for the iPhone Air, no other iPhone had interest because of weight. This is the new standard.
People keep forgetting how stupid heavy carrying so much battery all the time.
iPhone Air charges from 25% -> 80% in 30min or less.
Camera is excellent and beyond my expectations.
