Yhea, that’s my though. I wanna keep up to date and quite frequently change my system. I like having the reproducibility but feel like the immutable might get in the way. My servers though stay pretty static.

Yup, only reason I can’t move on is because of the AUR and the rolling release, though, having said that I’m thinking of trying NixOS but not quite sure it’s for me as it isn’t posix. It seems some software doesn’t really like that although I’ve heard it’s pretty awesome as a server OS.
Yup, all valid points which contributed to me either using ZigBee or designing my own things for WiFi.
The thing with wifi is that it drains a shit ton of energy. A WiFi temperature sensor might last a few weeks or months but ZigBee devices can last years. Of course this depends on what kind of batteries were talking about.
I don’t remember the name but it’s a depiction of a cave explorer that got stuck like that and died. While there was help at the place to try and get him out they couldn’t. If I remember correctly he’s still stuck in that same place.
Yup, probably something that is the same in many languages though I can only speculate. It’s also the same in swedish any way.
Yhea, you really learn to dig through the man pages and, if you didn’t already know, learn that they are quite helpful.
I myself am a maintainer/main developer of a project and the people that help out in the group chat are a god sent. Takes a lot of pressure out of my day.
About the same. Been using my arch install with KDE for about 5 years with no major problems at all. I use systemd boot so I’ve not had the issue with grub as other people seem to have had.
I bought a Garmin after having a Fitbit for many years. I must say i really prefer the Garmin, even though they are more expensive than the Fitbit. Though, if you want all functions on the Fitbit you need premium and if you include two years of that they are about the same price.
I totally agree. I’ve had my 2011 2.0 TDIe Audi A6 now for about 7 years. Never had major problems, though I specifically selected a diesel engine as the TFSI engines are crap. I also do pretty much all of.my own work so only pay for parts when something happens, which of course helps keep costs down.
If anyone is repairing or diagnosing your own vehicle in the WV group, make sure you get the VCDS software as it helps a ton! I got some cheap clone via eBay but it’s worked just fine for many years for me.
True, though on a Swedish keyboard layout it’s much quicker and easier to get to in my opinion.
That’s wat ctrl+a do, go to front. Ctrl+e is go to end. Use it all the time!
It’s happens sometimes but I must say, not very often. I could probably count on one hand how many times that have happened through my many years of using pihole.
I’m just about to setup TP-link cameras connected to Frigate (NVR software) with a Coral TPU for offline object detection. This means I can block access to internet for the cameras and use a VPN home if I want to watch them.
I think 4G was a lot of speed for mobile devices but I must say the speeds on 5G are quite impressive. I can get about 50-70mbit/s with 4G on my phone while 5G does 300+. Do I ever need that? No.
I think it would have been better to invest in better coverage with 4G.
Had a look at Louise Rossmans video yesterday about this and from what he showed he got it on all browsers.
Yhea, O just I’d that and it seems like the clear winner. Thanks for letting me know though. Was half asleep while watching the video last night.
Thanks, it looks like the issue was that I was using the play store version which was more limited.
Yhea, I’ve been using Eternity for almost all my Lemmy browsing. Only client for me!
