Just like Aaron Swartz

It’s excellent, you can filter network access per app, or per IP, or isolate an app and allow it to access only certain addresses / ranges and the interface is really intuitive and user-friendly.

Up until today I was happy with turning off updates (as a precaution) and restricting Nova’s internet access (all phone network access is proxied through Rethink+), but this made me switch to Lawnchair and leave a 1-star review for both the free version and the paid upgrade token.

I would still like to see an explanation of why it is bad. Regardless of who will provide that explanation :)
Because they have Occulus’ locked up in their basement and gimmick du jour is worse, now instead of just having a headset where you have to use their account and see ads for their shitty corpo vr chat every time you login you’ll have a mandatory llm paperclip learning your habits and shilling 24/7

Stupidest brand mishandling ever, this is incredibly shortsighted

They’re trying to create a Super-app, similar to what WeChat is in China, but for games.
Like Roblox, actually. They are trying to stanch the users’ leaking out of their cash cow, but shoving everything in will just piss off the kids when fourth 50+ GB patch hits. As for Rocket League, they already mismanaged it to shit, the levels have lost all flair years ago, new ones are inexplicably ugly.

Noooo the britbong threads

Yeah, ha ha, fuck off

give one the right to pirate
What if Margaret Mead, at her age, smoked grass

I use bandcamp to throw some cash at them, it’s a fair offer and ok price.

Some more things I’m sure of include that Spotify exists for the artists and won’t sneakily replace them with Suno-generated shit at first opportunity or fuck with people’s legacy of holy playlists or make the interface more cumbersome to alter users’ habits, or increase the price until the frogs start jumping out. It’s allowed to exists through the graces of biggest publishing conglomerates whose C-suite and shareholders get the lion’s share. Fuck fucking Spotify.

Buy their merch rather than feeding the beast
It works great for me. I usually make GPX in advance for cycling and just follow it, but choosing navigation as a car avoiding motorways and tolls also works great (at least in Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Bosnia). If you admit you’re a bicycle it’ll send you through people’s yards tho, but it’s mostly friendly yards that are supposed to be public walking spaces but someone put some fences.

That’s a dead project, killed by CoMaps and just bleeding slowly from the wound. I don’t care about where they’re hosted, but I do about fucking Kayak ads, that’s a deal breaker.
I use and recommend OSMAnd, but if you absolutely need an app that does less, CoMaps is a better choice

Not only that, Russinovich through some magic made them keep this online: https://live.sysinternals.com/ and it’s the best site MS has, no bullshit whatsoever, dates showing when the tools were last updated. If you’re helping some unfortunate soul doomed to windows, it’s a great resource.
