I’ve been using the smart charging feature on my Pixel 6 since I got it and for the past few years it’s been working as expected; I plug it in in the evening, it charges to 80% and only starts going to 100% when my wake up approaches.
For the last month or so this has however not been the case. The alarm goes off and I’m still at 80. Has anyone else noticed this feature breaking?
I haven’t had any changes in morning alarm time that would warrant some kind of adjustment period of the “smart” algorithm.
A little while ago we got a new update that allowed us to limit charging to 80% to keep battery health, are you sure you’ve not got that turned on? As soon as we got the update I switched from adaptive charging to the 80% limit.
Yep, I’ve checked, still using smart charging. I can charge to 100% when charging at daytime hours, but it just doesn’t go to 100% in sync with the alarm.
Try switching the option back and forth? I’ve had to do this before and then it worked for me
I believe I’ve tried this but will do it again.
Do you use the default alarm clock? Is it possible there is some other app providing a wrong “unplug time”?
Yep, default.
I have a Pixel 6 and the adaptive charging works flawlessly. I wonder if clearing a specific battery app cache would resolvethe issue? May need to do a wipe if everything else fails.
I believe it might be a feature where it only charges to full closer to when the alarm goes off, maybe its misbehaving not sure if you can turn it off
Nothing like this on my pixel 6 pro. Have you restarted it and checked settings again? Have you installed any software that wakes or otherwise keeps things active to avoid notification lag but not configured it?
