I agree that it seems the level of security was a factor before, during, and after the event. But anyone can claim “if I was there” after the fact. The takeaway is how this is motivating such groups to get ready for more, an excuse for violence.
The mainland gitmos were already coming. The Proud Boys and the likes were receding because they were getting government jobs, not retiring. Anything that will happen now was going to happen anyway. Maybe this will inspire people to actually take a stand against shithead Nazis. Maybe someone will see this and think “so thats what children go through at school”, or maybe this will repeal the concealed carry law on that campus before a mass shooting happens there.
