    Is an autopsy independent? I have no idea how that even works, but i wouldn’t trust it at all if the police has any way to get their fat fingers in between the autopsy and the results.

      People fund independent autopsies for exactly this reason.

          Yes the government does an autopsy and your concerns absolutely apply. However, the family is free to do a followup autopsy with whomever they wish. That’s what this funding is for.
