Resisting what though? Fascism? Ehhhh… every time fascism takes a step forward, everyone fails to resist—regardless of how much resistance they claim to be doing.
I could literally link several instances of people resisting and these dumbass thugs end up packing up and leaving but for some reason I don’t think it would matter.
No sucsefull revolution has ever had the participation of “everyone”. Americans are slow to react but societal momentum is shifting as people wake up and get angrier and more frightened I belive this because I have to.
To be clear, we are talking about the posters… that anger no one. In fact, they probably give a false sense of security or success. Today we are one step closer to fascism, which means each action so far has failed. I don’t mean we should stop, but I do mean we need to step it up a bit.
History has nothing to do with today. Just because there are similar events does not mean the same solution will solve the problem. Clearly, people can learn from their past mistakes—and the Nazis have learned (in a bad way).
Considering historically how angry Americans can get, if anything the take over will drive the anger to new heights and bring their plan screeching to a halt.
Tell me how much Americans have been upset with America within the last 100 years? What have they done to the government? some harsh language and the occasional nut job bomber?
We are historically pussy-ass-bitches on our own turf.
If there’s any silver lining to this authoritarian power grab, it’s that people are finally waking the fuck up and getting really mad. Not everyone, mind you. But hopefully many more than historically, and hopefully enough who will take action.
Barely anyone is mad. He was right that he could shoot someone on 5th Ave. American politicians are dismantling the entire country and its business as usual.
Perhaps a generation or two from now will have people with balls.
Okay, let’s do this. On Sunday I will get back to you. Let’s choose right now what will make you wrong.
I say, there will be a lot of coverage in the news, a lot of people will be talking, but absolutely no events will have happened to move anything forward measurably.
In the week to follow, everything will return to about where it is now.
If you’re wrong—you apologize and admit I’m right that peaceful protesting doesn’t work in 2025+. If I’m wrong, I’ll change my perspective of peaceful protesting and encourage it from now on… and apologize for disbelieving it.

Packing up and just moving down the street. They need to leave fascism not leave the area
I think you’re just being ignorant to history. People did stand up to the Nazis and ultimately they were defeated.
They were not defeated by posters.
Propaganda existed back then too, and it can be an extremely powerful tool
Seriously go read up on 1930s German history you’d be surprised how much it’s been mirrored here
I see the reflection, just not that protesting was at all what ended it.
Imma disagree on this point. Propaganda is deffo an important part of war.
If this was put up in a Trump loving area, I’d agree… but this is in Portland. Everyone just wants a selfie with it.
I guess you don’t know what propaganda is.
Oh OK so you’re just a contrarian. Cool, you got people to engage. Was the dopamine hit worth it
Was yours?
Every time, baby.
This may come as a shock, but there is technology now to convey pictures and in some cases even moving pictures to faraway lands.
And this kind of shit is why we deserve what’s coming.
“We deserve fascism because someone was sarcastic to me online” is a pretty shitty take actually.
I love that you even emphasize “why” in this comment. Wow man, powerful stuff. We deserve fascism because someone huwt yow feewings.

Unfortunately, their plan is to take over before enough people get angry enough to do anything about it.
And that’s why acts like the one we’re discussing – intended to get people angrier faster – are so important.

I see this comment has 2 points… I hope anyone reading this understands that what this person is saying is complete and utter horseshit.
Read some history yourself, don’t listen to this clown.

Yeah dude. Good point.

Get back to me after the protests on Saturday.

Does that seem like an acceptable deal/bet?
I wish you weren’t right. :(
