I honestly feel really hurt seeing some of these comments. I put a lot of effort into making something simple and safe no ads, no internet, no tracking — and people are calling it malware or fake.

It’s completely free I just wanted to build something good. I never expected this kind of hate or false claims.

Anyway, I’m going to delete this post. Thanks to the few who actually understood what I was trying to do. 🙏

Thanks 😊 I’ll look into F-Droid once it’s more stable. It’s fully offline, ad-free, free app and private for now

Nope, real person here 😊 I built this myself for my parents because they found Android hard to use. Just sharing it to get feedback and ideas from others not a company or bot.

Welcome to the Fediverse. Just a heads up, your post does read like botspam and people here are very protective of this corner of the internet. The emoji-led list isn’t helping.

I’ve set up older relatives’ phones to work in a similar way (iOS widgets and shortcuts mostly) so I really appreciate your effort here. But even if you just are just stepping in here to make a few posts and then leave, please make an effort not to talk down to us like you’re screaming into the void on Instagram or LinkedIn.

Edit: Your comments do read like they came out of a slop generator. And publishing your code, even if it’s not beautiful, even if you’re cleaning it up in the future, would be a sign of goodwill.

Trust is a two way street my friend. It’s up to you not to seem suspicious.

Could be a non-native speaker using an LLM to translate with a specific tone

Yep, English isn’t my first language you guessed right! I just use some tools to make sure what I write is clear.

Yeah, fair point. I might’ve overused emojis trying to make it look more positive. Will tone it down next time.

I get that I know my writing might sound a bit off, but the app’s completely safe no data collection, ads, or tracking. Just trying to keep it simple and helpful.

Then you’d share the source. And don’t give us the “it’s not stable enough” excuse. That makes no sense at all. And besides, if it’s not stable and that gave you any pause, you wouldn’t share it at all.

Thanks! 😊 I’m not trying to make money just wanted something calm and easy for my parents. I totally understand the value of open source. Once things are more stable, I might consider sharing the code. For now, it’s 100% offline, ad-free, and private

There’s really no way to trust you on that, except looking at the source code. “Stability” has nothing to do with open-sourcing.

That’s fair I just want to clean up and organize the code first, then I’ll make it open-source so everything’s transparent. Appreciate the feedback!

Maybe you could consider making it source available?
So others could verify your claims but you stay in full control and deny any sort of pull requests.

This is exactly something I would like to install on my grandma’s phone, but does it have translations builtin? I am asking for Croatian specifically.

Thanks for asking 😊 Yes the latest version includes multi-language support and automatically uses your device’s language. If Croatian isn’t showing yet, let me know and I’ll add it in the next update ❤️

Haha yes! 😊 That’s exactly why I added text on buttons icons can be confusing, but words are clear and familiar, especially for seniors.

Based on the images it looks really good! My grandpa recently got a new phone and I’ve been wondering whether he should use something like this. He can easily get overwhelmed and lost in the interface, and struggles with misinputs/inputs not registering. Giant, easy to read buttons on the home screen would make it so much easier for him I think.

Looks good and I love that it is offline without ads and trackers.

It’s something I would definitely consider installing for my mum with the caveat that I’d like to see the source published.

Yes, that’s true Samsung’s Easy Mode is good😊 But this one focuses more on customization, emergency contacts with photos, a lockable layout, and a cleaner, simpler design that works across all Android devices ❤️
