I didn’t realize Dune 3 had already been shot and was in post production. I thought Villeneuve had another project in line before Dune 3, but I guess not.

If Avengers is going to move dates they better do it quick. The marketing has a countdown and it will be weird if you have to adjust that timer.

I don’t see a “Dunesday” trend happening, both films are probably 2.5+ hours and people just aren’t going to see them back to back in December.

My guess is Dune moves up a few weeks.

Or… I could just go see it another day? Do they know that movies are on cinema for more than 1 day?

Because they are on the same date the whole opening weekend think with Hollywood reporting is the context of “stealing views”.

It’s stupid and you are right.

But also late December is a weird exception to standard box office rules. So opening weekend is more opening-weekend-but-also-Christmas-and-some-other-days-depending-when-Christmas-is.

I’m usually happier when that happens cause I’m like “great, more movies I wanna see”

People can’t go see both? Seems dumb to try and stir up resentment for either movie.

Nah, it’s just fake rivalry, made up from these articles and studios so they can have biggest opening. Most people won’t even go to premiere

It’s not even a rivalry. Ever since Barbenheimer people are looking for the next double feature merger event.

Dune 3 is the movie I’m most excited about. I’d read all the books as a school kid. I’d listened to the audiobooks during COVID. I even watched the 1980s movie with Sting. Fair to say, I am a bit of a fan.

They definitely won’t. Dune is boring as watching shit dry and Marvel has burned through all their good will long ago.

Or if you’re interested in Doomsday and haven’t taken for superhero fatigue.

I think you misunderstood me. I am totally pumped for Doomsday, and have had zero interest in the Dune remakes since the first one…
