I hope all the conservative zoomers enjoy that, because fuck me I cannot figure out how they got so fucking hoodwinked to vote FOR orangeboi.

Like, not voting I get. I understand that. But voting for the guy who was obviously a grifter the first time around and expecting him to not squeeze blood from the stone on his second stint is just so absolutely fucking oblivious and stupid.

      so fucking hoodwinked

They didn’t get hoodwinked. They knew what they were voting for.

      not voting I get

These are actually the laziest and worst among them. We know where the first group stands and what for. These are just lazy people lacking in responsibility.

In summary, none of this is a surprise or hard to understand and the majority of the country, including the apathetic, are bad people.

The president reflects the country and fits it like a glove.

I resent this comment. I don’t vote. I’m not lazy. I’m not the worst among them. And I do not lack responsibility. Do you think we’re going to vote our way out of this mess? I don’t vote because I don’t believe voting does anything, and those in power have seen to that.

I don’t care if you resent it, it’s a fact.

Of course voting makes a difference if it’s done as a group. How the hell do you think Republicans get into power so many times? Because their people fucking vote.

Your idleness has bestowed upon your fellow citizens the worst government they could have. Your selfishness because you can’t get the individual you want or the one you don’t won’t give you want you want, so you throw the toys from the cot.

Damn straight you lack responsibility. There is only one way to get the change you piss and moan about…vote strongly for someone advocating change in primaries, then vote that person in. If that fails, then you back the liberal who won’t turn you into a fascist dictatorship and you go again with the primary. But that’s it, that’s the only solution, with your system, you have.

Those in power have seen to it now, because you failed your national duty. You’re the worst of them, someone who stands for nothing but themselves.

          Fuck your resentment.

If Kamala had “won”, the election would’ve been turned over. Just like if Bush had won, we wouldn’t be wondering why the win was given to him instead of Gore.

Kamala wasn’t allowed to win. Democrats throw elections when it isn’t their turn. The constant back and forth is a blame-game psyop, or didn’t you see Obama chuckling it up at Trump’s inauguration?

You ever wonder why candidates only speak to one side of the isle and curtail the other? Don’t they want to grow their base? No, division is power and they all know it. The only vote is us v them.

It’s time for the 1% to reap more wealth, so, they’re doing now what they can easily apologize for in 4 years with petty slaps on the wrist.

same as it ever was. How about we take more Trump policies to court after they’ve happened and the damage is done, while he ransacks another city? They’re all complicit, stop drinking the kool aid.

He was impeached before he even took office again and still got allowed to run, lmao. Who’s giving the free passes? It ain’t me! It ain’t you! Democrats were in power. What’s the deal?

              What is this word salad?

If I can follow it and I’m not sure if I can, I don’t think it’s as insightful as you think it is.

              Are you fucking stupid?

              Democrats were in power

We have 3 branches of government. One that takes decades to change the makeup of. One that is split in two and tends to favor the number of states.

Any one of those branches can fight the other two and stop progress. The one that is split i two fights itself.

Currently, all 4 groups are controlled by Republicans. Two years ago, only 2 of the 4 were controlled by Democrats. Those are not equivalent sets of “in power”.

2 of the 4 and giving every possible pass available to give, including siding with Israel. 50% of the power and 10% of the effort doesn’t work.

Nice made up numbers. With 90% of the effort and 50% of the power, they can only get 10% of the results.

If you care about issues like Israel, then you need to support the candidates that support your view.

Showing up to the polls and casting an empty ballot is a better gesture than not voting. Not voting at all is how you tell the politicians “you can ignore because I won’t go out and vote against you.” Not voting just makes it easier for the candidate most opposite your own positions to win, because for your one vote against them they have to earn two votes to get ahead of yours.

The general election isn’t where you work on better candidates, it’s where you stop the worst. Voting in the primary is where you go for better candidates (see all the progressives who ran disruptive primary campaigns and won in 2018 and on, culminating with Mamdani). Even Bernie actually ran in and won the Democratic primary for his Senate seat in 2008 before running as independent in the general. We need you in the primaries to get better candidates, and the general to reject the outright fascists.

I didn’t mean to cause a stir here, and for that I’m sorry. I voted my whole life, and I considered myself a civic person. I ran for office in rural KY because I was so enamored with Bernie Sanders. I held my nose and voted for Kamala last time even though I told myself I would never vote for a Dem again. I’m jaded, I’m angry, and it appears I’m likely wrong about my decision. Thanks (to everyone) for their replies. Again, sorry for getting some folks riled up. I really don’t want to cause a stir here.

i know the system sucks. i know it’s unfair. nevertheless, voting remains one avenue of the fight to send a message. one avenue to say to them “at least TRY to be better.” please don’t abdicate it willingly.

They were media-blitzed by virtually 100% of available media, into committing this as their first political act (I guess for lots of them it was their first election).

I find it infinitely cruel. Boomers, once again, eating their young :(

Now imagine you’re twenty, and that was your first vote, and you got scammed into bringing the collapse of western civilization. Would you have the intellectual honesty to recognize what you’ve done? Or would you rationalize it and double down on it?

It makes me so fucking sad. Really a cruel joke to play on people who were teenagers just a few years ago. We’ll all pay for this.
