Another one joined our cult.

(And demonstrates AI overuse and dumbfuckery)

I was really suprised to see Moidawg make a switching to linux video. Milsim games involve heavy ray tracing which has dogshit preformance on linux for both nvidia and amd. Popular Milsims (like squad) often break linux compatibility when they update and some dont even work at all. On top of that hes using cachyOS and recommending others do the same after only 7 days on linux. Its just a recipe for disaster all around. It was one of the few times I appreciated the person recommending dual booting.

Really appreciate their takeaway from this. It’s unfortunate that AI is so popular right at the moment that a lot of people are trying to switch to Linux. They’re also still solidly within the honeymoon period so we’ll see how they feel in a month or two.

I bet his use cases are simple enough for a long-term relationship. He sticks to his games and streams. Unless anything else pops up, he is covered.

The AI episode however left me speechless 🫠

Yes. Foreign languages can be a dumpster fire if you write without the proper keyboard (or the word is not recognized). Fixed it.

I was gonna say that, much as I use Linux and play milsims on it, Command: Modern Operations is a pretty prominent hard milsim — like, exiting the “game” side and getting closer to the “non-game sim” side — and is one of the very few Steam games that I can’t run on Linux, but apparently, looking at ProtonDB, it can now run on Proton. Only a bronze rating, and according to some of the people there, takes some tweaking, but it runs. Huh.
