If you told me in the 90s that Kid Rock would somehow have become even more cringe, I would have needed a minute to adapt to the anachronism. But once I had I wouldn’t believe you.
Nearly 20 years ago, a writer for Cracked said something that stuck with me. Paraphrasing, of all the people in Michigan impacted by the mortgage crisis, most of whom were hardworking blue-collar laborers, Kid Rock was least deserving of any success: the only success Kid Rock deserves is to live off the proceeds of a settlement from accidentally spot welding his necklace to his chest. No lies detected.
I received an email from Ticketmaster when tickets for how local show went on sale, and I was just curious how well they were selling, so I logged in. There were still plenty left, but they were selling much better than I was expecting… but then I noticed the prices. $60 for lawn and $200-$500 for pavilion seating. But then I noticed the front 2 rows, $4k-$5k… and they were almost all sold out.
This has to be a money laundering scheme, right? No one is actually paying that to see Kid Rock, right?
Ticketmaster is a vile company. More than likely this is manufactured scarcity to drive ticket sales for a washed up has-been that no one cares about.
You’d have to actually attend a concert to see if those seats actually fill. I’m not willing to subject myself to that punishment.
They might have reserved most of them for promotional giveaway type shit. “Win $5000 Kid Rock tickets!”
The only way I see this working is if there using the sticker price for another purpose. Those are like Olympic Finals ticket prices, not hillbilly rock in the middle of nowhere prices.
Those who wanted to nab front row tickets would have to pay a whopping $5,000 at every date on the tour, while second row tickets were priced at $4,000 a pop.
The pattern continues for $3,000 for the third row, $2,000 for the fourth row, and $1,000 for the fifth row. No added benefits are apparently listed for purchasing tickets for the first five rows.
He does know he’s catering to poor rural people right?
His shows will have his 14 attendees sitting in row 6 I guess.
Or 150 hired extras from a Craigslist ad
So is the sixth row free then?
I’m getting tickets in the nosebleeds and getting paid 100s of thousands to be there.
Whenever artists allow greedy prices my mind jumps to “So you think you’re better than Pink Floyd?!”
How blasphemous
Those prices have to include a blowjob from Kid and the ghost of Joe C, right?
more blow jobs with hype men going off on the sidelines like yeeaaaaahhhhhhh booyyyeeeee
