I browse different lemmy instances usually because the feed is always different. Was blown away when I recently went to lemmy.today, no clue when they did the change but whoever is in charge of the design has my admiration! (chef’s kiss)

Flashy and pretty, but as a UI I find it places too much visual emphasis on form over function / style over substance. The biggest example I can give us that I don’t think the bright neon blue left border on posts should be so much more eye-catching than the post titles. If I were to change things, I would probably try to find a dimmer shade of blue for them, and/or add some additional decoration to post titles so that they more clearly are the first thing my eyes are drawn to when scanning the page.

I’m not a fan of how the post titles compete with the neon bars for my attention, but otherwise it looks nice.

Wow that is nice, is it released anywhere for others to modify/extend?

It’s based on lemmy-ui which is AGPL-licensed, so I’d think it would have to be released somewhere?

There’s the announcement on lemmy.today. It seems like MrManager made the theme themselves specifically for the lemmy.today instance? Could always ask them, though!

Yeah. That place is safe harbor for UniversalMonk and all of his sock puppets. The admins even defend him. So, I gave it blocks from my feed. I won’t support an instance that supports that waste of flesh.

Imagine someone that spends so much time on they make @[email protected] seem like one of the least active users you see. Who seemed to create multiple new communities daily. But had none of the knowledge, self awareness, or insight of PJ.

Talking to them often seemed like engaging with a poorly trained LLM. When they were on .world it wasn’t uncommon for my front page or the all page to be choked with their inane posts. With a volume that would make cm002 or return2ozma seem like they were slacking. Which combined with them creating alternate accounts, ultimately leading to an instance ban for ban evasion iirc.

Last I knew db0 was harboring them. Though honestly I’m sure they have multiple accounts on nearly every server there is.

A while back I made a spoof account called Universal Crunk. It used his same avatar but photoshopped to be flashing cash in front of the Raytheon HQ, wearing Ray-Bans and a Yankees hat, and smoking crack; the profile bio was the standard one he uses but his the language was changed to be praise of crypto, defense contractors, and hedge funds. I made one comment and within about 2 minutes it was nuked.
