      Well well well TIL.

Fuck it, let’s just send in some AT-AT Walkers to truck the barrels through.

And what? For one thing my point is well made if not technically by truck and second see that pipe that cuts off in the middle of the desert that follows almost the exact same path as the meme? They have to truck it the rest of the way.

Edit: Also if your point is we don’t have enough infrastructure that is because it is expensive which was exactly my point.

It’s pretty clear you don’t really comprehend the volumes of oil going through Hormuz here when you say truck it the rest of the way.

Really? You think there’s a law of physics that prevents this?

For one thing we could build trucks much much bigger if we wanted to, we could build them as big as tankers if we wanted to, and in the middle of the desert it would not be hard to get permission.

we would never build them that big because we would just build more pipes, or send multiple trucks, or dig a trench, or dig a canal, or any numerous options.

they would just be expensive relative to the free pass through the strait.

But if that strait is no longer free the relative price goes down and the oil makes enough money to cover it a thousand times over.

Really, it’s not economical or practical to do this in the slightest. Laws of physics have fuck all to do with it. Also, a giant hole in that genius plan of yours is that Iran can just bomb this infrastructure like they’re doing with all the other infrastructure in the region right now. But thank you for taking your valuable time away from sniffing glue to grace us with your invaluable insight.

That’s not how anything works. It can’t be done in time even with an infinite amount of money. Money doesn’t magically transform into infrastructure overnight. There are no magic infrastructure gnomes.
