What this shows is that the human definitions of the words “standing”, “sitting” and “lying” are vague rather than strict.

Lack of taking the “the meaning of spoken language words is in fact pretty blurry around the boundaries (even for words ‘everybody agrees on’)” effect into account is the reason why technical implementations “not doing what the users want” is so incredibly common that it has become a running joke in fields like software development.

technically only demonstrates superposition according to one specific interpretation of quantum mechanics

This is how our dog would sleep in the car, rear legs on seat, front on floor and head on console, really liked the AC and being able to see out the front

Mine as well, he also likes to boop my arm while I’m driving, not understanding that I can’t turn around and pet him.

The really funny part about this is that observing the dog in this state changes nothing … for the dog.

I feel like I saw this image around 2011 or so. If so, this superposition has almost certainly begun to decay…

Schrödinger’s cat has nothing on this dog. Time to update the textbooks.

Just curious, what kind of furniture is this? It looks like a table with a bench or a picnic table with the seat attached but if it were it wouldn’t make sense since the middle plank is lower than the other two. Also none of the surfaces seem wide enough to function as a table.

Except nothing will cause the function to collapse. With real superpositions, observing the state causes it to have always been only one specific position the entire time.
