Many of the existing mods have become inactive and the Lemmy.world community team asked me to step in as an active member.
You should know because I need you to report rule violations. I’ve done my best to clean up the backlog and will be keeping an eye out.
I’ve never really sought out being a mod before, other than trying to start a more niche community or two. I’d appreciate a little grace while I try to navigate how to best provide this service to the community.

You should know its your job to delete low effort posts, including images of text.

I do. Seems a lot of mods ignore my reports.
Since this comment you’ve reported two comments, not posts, where people posted a gif with text. You’re being ignored because that’s not a rule violation. You cannot clog up moderation queues just because you don’t appreciate people’s comments. Please do not report anymore comments for that reason.
If there’s a low effort POST like you described, I will be happy to remove it as that violates the sub rules.

I am not antisemitic, and I do not believe criticism of Israel is equivalent to antisemitism. Being open, I was devastated when I heard about the October 7th attacks, both thinking of the Israeli victims and how the Israeli government would use it to justify what they are doing now.
That said, I will treat blatant antisemitism as I would any other flavor of racism. That includes antisemitic conspiracy theories. There was a lot of that kind of mess in the backlog.
Its a tough line to navigate sometimes, hence my request for some grace.
