Jerkface Douche Vance, God is never on the side of those that wield the sword, IE the aggressor. That would be the US and Israel in Iran, you fucking moron.

Hey, I know we’re dunking on Vance, but you should really try reading the Bible before making that claim. What you find might surprise you.

Point taken. I’m not a religious guy and I’m sure there’s plenty of old testament scripture that supports smiting the non-believers (which christophiles always point to as to why muslims are so gosh-darn violent), but Jesus was a lot more on the side of promoting peace than war, which was kind of the point the pope was trying to make. I don’t believe any of it, but Vance claims to, and it is clear to me he just doesn’t understand what he claims to believe.

That was really my only point and I guess I wasn’t really very clear about it

Do not think I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household.

Right? If you can’t find something in the bible to support whatever it is that you’re doing, you probably just haven’t looked hard enough. And you can also just start quoting from the 2000 years of ‘religious scholars’ if you really need to get something going.
