Finished Sparkle 2, it’s a throw-a-ball-to-match-3 kind of puzzle. Very similar to older Zuma game, if someone here remembers that. This was free on PS+ a while back and I have been playing since early 2025. It has around 90 or so levels and I’ll usually play 2-3 here and there. Finally reached the end after about a year and half.

Fun game, if you like this kind of action puzzle games, this was an enjoyable experience.

Most of the time this weekend was spent on Lords of the Fallen (2014). There was objective, but it didn’t say how to get there, so was a bit lost, but beat another another boss and reached the next one, so hopefully I am going in the right direction. This game is much easier than usual soulslikes, I cleared two areas without dying even once, even beat a boss without dying, that never happens for me.

There’s a trophy for each boss, and from that it seems I only have 2 or 3 bosses left. Shouldn’t be too long. Maybe 1 or 2 weekends more. Want to finish this before Yoshi’s release.

Just started the second chapter of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition. Things were fine for a little bit, but something seems to be up now, going to see if we can figure it out…

Played a bit more of Pokémon Pokopia nothing major here.

What about all of you? What have you been playing and/or plan to play?

I just took 2 wonderful weeks off and played about 160 hours combined of Transport Fever 2 (city builder but without the city-building that only focuses on logistics), FOUNDRY (voxel Satisfactory), Teddy’s Haven (cosy fantasy shop sim) and Bobo Bay (basically Chao garden from Sonic Adventure 2 that someone finally made into a standalone game).

Less than two hours into my first shift back I was already utterly miserable, and now 90 minutes after that I’m just… burned out. I guess it’ll be back to Pokémon after this because I won’t have the mental bandwidth for much else. Just gotta win the lotto!

Also slowly chipping away at The Outer Worlds

Original Paper Mario is pretty good, played it couple of years ago and it holds up pretty well. It’s also the only Paper Mario I have played yet, should get on with rest of the series now.

Started playing Monster Train 2. Loved the first one, but oh boy, 2 is such a let down for me. Feels like it’s poorly balanced, on both player and enemy sides, and it’s just an exercise in finding the most BS broken stuff rather than properly strategy.

It’s not a bad game, mind you; it’s just that perhaps my expectations and the game were not aligned.

Any chance it’s something they can fix with a patch? Also, is it something that they are willing to fix with a patch?

    Playing Yoshi’s Crafted World!

Needed a more relaxing game and this one seemed like a good option. It’s fairly chill, though getting 100% in some stages can be surprisingly tricky - damn whoever decided to have those “retry the stage if you fail” challenges. Sure, you can rush through the stages and get back there in a minute or so but it’s still very annoying.

Speaking of annoying, my god the OST in this game is painful. While the tracks are not that bad (but not good either) they’re mind-numbing repetitive - the large majority of the stages either uses the main theme or variations of it.

But outside these two things the game is pretty good. Similar vibes to the Kirby games, though I’d definitely recommend Forgotten Land and Return to Dreamland over this one.

So, I loved Yoshi’s Crafted World, and my kids and wife loved it too, but your mention of “retry the stage if you fail” challenges brought back the memory that the game did have some annoying parts.

I haven’t played either of the Kirby games. Forgotten Land is already on my wishlist but was planning to skip Return to Dreamland, felt too easy / targeted for kids. Will add it to my list on your recommendation though.

Forgotten Land is a much better game, but I definitely recommend both. Return to Dreamland also has 4-player coop which will probably be fun to play with your kids.

Son is about to enter teenage and is more interested in games like Fortnite. He does like playing with me though, so might be able to rope him in. Would be a good fit for daughter though, she loves simpler games

I have been playing through the ending of Persona 5 Royal for nearly a week now. I feel like the ending is nearly perfect. The dragging action of the ending fits with the ending as well, so it is hard to be mad. I want it to be done so that I can do new game plus, but a lot of my focus has been turning the random numbers of a Kahoot! Civics review into a simulated Decathlon for my students. They aren’t as into it as the basketball, that’s for sure!

Nice to hear about the ending. I get a bit annoyed with draggy endings, but now that I know I’ll be mentally prepared.

I enjoyed it. There isn’t a story. You just do the metroidvania thing until you hit a wall and then figure out what items you need to continue. Post-game cleanup is good fun and there are a few nice puzzles.

It is possible to sequence break too and just when you think you are done you realize there is something else to collect.

It is a very good little game.

Did a lot less than gaming than I originally planned. Still on Octopath Traveler II.

My B team, consisting of Castti, Agnea and Partitio feels a lot weaker than the other one, even accounting for the missing fourth character. I probably need to rethink their classes before finishing their final chapters. However, it’s hard to beat the automatic buff and debuff at night in combination with the automatic weakness revealed. I did finish up a lot of other things, like collecting all rusty weapons (all of which are equipped to Hikari for his solo run attempt) or the Commerce chapters from Partitio.

Started Danganronpa and also completed the first chapter with my partner. The first case was super obvious, but I really enjoyed the courtroom gameplay anyway. I expect the others to become increasingly more difficult. I hope nothing bad ever happens to Sakura.

Careful with the spoiler section, I don’t know if the game play out the same each time or if murders differ between playthroughs.

    My first case

Leon killed Sayaka, after initially being targeted by her.

I never trusted Sayaka to begin with, she just tried too hard to get my trust. Obviously, she either wanted to murder us or pin it on us.

Her death message could have been a fake out, but the way other characters couldn’t read the letters at first glance made me disregard the possibility. Also, there’s no way anyone but our baseball prodigy could have thrown that glass ball.

I was, however, super surprised by Junkos untimely demise. I’m going in blind, but I’ve seen her referenced quite a lot. Makes me think the murders aren’t always the same, or she’s somehow coming back. Either way, please don’t tell me.

Oh, and there’s definitely a 16th character. You don’t just throw an empty seat in there, it has to be a Chekhov’s Gun.

So I replied to this yesterday, but apparently it didn’t post.

Regarding the spoiler, it was same for me. Not sure it means if the playthrough isn’t affected by our choice, or we just made same choices. It’s also possible first chapter is same and things diverge after that. I guess we will find out.

      spoiler about first case

I have same feeling about the 16th seat, and while I felt something was probably going to happen with Sayaka, I thought if anything did happen it would be near the end.

As for deducing who killed her, the message was the first clue, but the shattered glass just proved it. I didn’t realise it would take so much back and forth for everyone else to agree. Also, I thought he would be one of the guy who will stay around till the end.

I feel so lucky to watch and @[email protected] experience this game. I look forward to seeing y’all progress.

I will say that your spoiler observations make me feel like I have a very low level of attention to detail; almost everything I experienced in the game was a massive surprise to me!

Went back and played a bit of Star Fox 64 after seeing the announcement of the re-re-remake. It’s fun, but I think only if I play it like I did when I was a kid, by completely blowing off my allies and doing my own thing. Having to babysit my teammates while dealing with my own problems, as I think is intended, is significantly less fun.

Not sure. I’ll probably wait for a review. The character models are really off-putting. They remind me of the book The Island of Doctor Moreau. It may be one of the first works to feature physically anthropomorphic animals, as opposed to regular animals with human behavior, and they’re written to be somewhere between terrifying and uncanny.

Interesting. As someone who hasn’t played any previous Starfox game (other than Super Smash Bros. Ultimate), I actually liked the character model. You aren’t alone in this though, I have seen many people say similar things about the character design, so maybe I am the one in the minority.
