    I dunno.

    Let’s say you’re a shipping company, and you charge a fee based on how much I sell a product for. I say “can you ship this giant box for me, it’s real heavy but I’m not charging for it”. So you cover the costs to deliver that package, and I pay nothing because it was free.

    You then find out that while yes, I give that type of thing away for free constantly, the majority of users will call me after the fact to pay me $100 to activate special features.

    Would you take issue with the fact that you’ve paid for the shipping, and I’ve skirted around paying you?
