This is being done while simultaneously making search engines more and more garbage, attempting to make AI the new search engine norm. This is bad for a myriad of reasons but I think its mainly because censorship and narrative control is easier to exploit with an LLM than a search engine.
Somehow they made us pay for this. Yet another “service” we do not own and are being set up to pay for recurringly.
The massive amount of hardware required for the expansion of AI also plummeted the hardware market for consumers. Also very effective way to ensure no one owns their own computer, since they cant afford it. This being done whilst corporations like Google, NVIDIA and NZXT has already tried to create “rental computers” really drives home the point that they dont want you to own it. Its of course great for them to not have any responsabilites for their products, warranties or reliabilities.
On top of all this we become stupider in the process, compliant and most effectively less “sought after” on the job market, making us cheaper for labour. Its a great circle. Truly the CEO mindset. Only the filthiest of trillionaires could find a way to profit of literally every step of the process.
