He has always “done his job”, but we need to define what that is. His job is to self-enrich by enraging and exploiting angry white men. Right now, some of the largest hot spots are support of Israel, unnecessary war with Iran, the economy/affordability, and the dismantling of the military (many vets). Most if not all of these resonate with angry white men…his core audience.
He, like many, has only finally noticed the harm he has caused now that he escaped from the bubble and he wants to clean his image. Like Kavanaugh, it’s not going to happen.
