Trump is fixated on the false, long-debunked claim that vaccines cause autism.

I didn’t realize Trump actually cared about vaccines and figured RFK was appointed as a quid pro quo for his 10% of votes he was getting early on.

Trump sure advertised the Covid vaccine as something he was proud of. Why would he be against vaccines now? Because maga yelled it and he thinks thisll help him get back some of those he lost during the Iran war?

Trump on our side, says not Doctor Andrew Wakefield.

Andrew Wakefield attends Trump inaugural ball in 2016.

Trump was antivax before he got elected. But he certainly got vaccinated for COVID. He just wants the simp vote.

While I don’t have the answer, it isn’t anything new and predates the pandemic: https://archive.nytimes.com/www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2015/09/17/fact-check-republicans-run-afoul-of-medical-thinking-with-autism-assertions/

The republican party was willing to entertain anti evidence positions so the people whose primary issues were things like “the medical and scientific establishment can’t be trusted as much as my gut” flocked to them
