    Capital -> Dandy -> Swell -> Keen -> Groovy -> Rad -> Slayed (although I’d have picked Bussin’).

    I wish I knew more going back even into the nineteenth century. I recently read the Arsene Lupin books (1905), and although that’s French translated to British English, I found the slang charming. Although I think cool was only used in regards to someone being calm and controlled…

      have you read much P. G. Wodehouse? It took me a chapter or two for my brain to adjust to the nineteenth century literature but that guy turns a phrase like nobody else. uses the same plot a lot, but it doesn’t matter because you always like the way he says it.
