There’s some pretty severe restrictions, like max 5 rounds in an SKS (although plenty of people illegally use the full 10). Cali does too, but it’s not clear if it’s on the same level. IIRC you can still have handguns pretty much anywhere in the US, while they’re almost banned here.
Check out gun ownership stats for Canada sometime. Might surprise you. Lotta unregistered long guns.
