Burger King has terminated an employee at its Breinigsville, Pennsylvania location following an exchange with a customer that was recorded and shared widely on social media, triggering a polarized debate about political speech in customer service settings.

there are constructive ways to do it and both the example contained in the article and that of yours w maga show the non-constructive ways.
like seemingly all silly social conventions, people assume the worst and i think it’s because a few well received snowflakes are afraid of confronting something that they don’t want to consider. either that or it’s intentional for herd people’s thought process like the isreali hasbara keeps doing really well.

opinions are being pushed on you all the time 24/7/365 whether you’re capable of recognizing it or not; the difference is on how well it’s done and whether or not you’ve heard it repeated enough times to make you believe in it.
we call it public relations in the western world and the nazis called it propaganda, but whatever you call it, it’s the same thing – mass psychological manipulation – and none of this is my opinion; the people who formally weaponized it; edward bernays and joseph goebbels; both said as much and the proof is in the pudding.

There’s a difference between the opinion of a person you meet in real life, and the opinions force fed down your throat by advertisements and mass media.

Why would you give a fuck what I say if you haven’t heard about my reputation?

I’m not upset! I’m just using your own words against you, I thought that was fairly obvious, lol.
i never expected to see an anti-intellectualism sentiment expressed on lemmy before but i guess it makes sense coming from your instance.
advertisements and the news from our legacy media are the biggest vehicles of this manipulation and you’re constantly bombarded by it, as i said earlier. you should likewise reject those narratives in the same way if you want to call yourself a rational and/or consistent human being.
also, reading something that you haven’t doesn’t mean sophistication; it only means that i bothered to stop drinking western propaganda and i heartily recommend it, but i’m certain that you won’t bother.

unsolicited political opinions are a matter of fact for life out in public and this poorly done burger king example is the one side of this coin with the well done hasbara being the opposite side.
decrying the former while ignoring the latter is a selectively that can only be understood as that culturally ingrained and hasbara supported desire to stick your head in the a sand when it comes to topics you consider undesirable.
You know you don’t have a reputation to us, right? Seems like you’re defeating your own point.

Reputation zero, point disregarded.
