If someone doesn’t know what Shazam is, it listens to music playing on the radio or TV and identifies it and helps you find the name/artist.
I was wondering if there open source equivalent, I tried searching google and AlternativeTo but only found Linux desktop apps.
Google actually managed to get song recognition runnning locally: https://research.google/blog/googles-next-generation-music-recognition/
They had a longer research paper about how they did it, but I can’t find it rn.
So it is theoretically possible to be done open source and locally, but all current implementations that I can find are proprietary.
