Glad it helped! I just factory reset my Sony Bravia the other day so it’s fresh in my memory. Agree on all fronts! Couldn’t live in today’s world without my pi-hole 😅.

It looks like you only have to agree to the first two options, if I’m reading correctly. Definitely second the pi-hole option if that isn’t the case though…super easy to find telemetry domains based on what still works after blacklisting something (you can also find lists online).
I have an 8 gig RPi4 (OS is Dietpi) with a 16 terabyte HDD for storage. No issues at all…super fast and reliable. There are great FOSS apps on F-Droid covering just about anything you’d need…the official app, cookbook, bookmarks, notes, news, etc. If you’re using an HDD instead of an SSD, just make sure you have a dedicated power supply for the HDD.

Just an FYI that you can definitely download shows/movies to any device via Jellyfin - just did so on my tablet yesterday…jump ship!!

I prefer the first game as you’re exploring a wild and hostile world while trying your best to survive and discover what’s actually going on. You have no idea why assassins keep coming for you, what’s going on with the iron crisis, or how it could possibly relate to you…but for some reason, you are tangled in a messy web of intrigue, politics, and danger.
You’re right…you are SO underpowered and helpless in the first game. Getting to any town is such a relief. But this makes adventuring so very worth it and so rewarding. I feel like the first game is brutally realistic, whereas the second is more fantastical. I love the cool gear and interactions of BG2, but the first one just feels so urgent and pressing to me.
The EE versions really changed the game…so many improvements without needing mods. However, the modding community is amazing as well. NPC banter packs, item packs, new quests, etc…there are so many options to modernize the game!

Baldur’s Gate, both 1 & 2 on PC (I prefer #1). I had to actively consider whether it had been at least 25 years it came out and…I feel super old now 😅.

They manage to make even the most mundane things fun for kids. My four year old loves doing the Morse code and braille activities…such a great app with so much to do!

Being able to mod Skyrim on Linux was the final nail in Window’s coffin for me too! Haven’t found a game that doesn’t work…even anti-cheat games like Elden Ring work flawlessly with Proton.
Tom from MySpace really is the nicest guy on this list…he was my first friend on there! 😎

Beating the first Baldur’s Gate after numerous (hundreds?) attempts over the years when I was 19-ish (ca. 2009). I recall actually tearing up quite heavily 😂. Even after all these years, still my absolute favourite game for replay (when I get the chance!).
As a kid, I thought this was meant to test your sound system for the movie (aka lone CRT) and would blast it as loud as I could.

Yes! So glad someone else though of this 😎

These just keep getting better and better

I’m on Lemmy.ml and am anything but a “tankie”. Love it here. Tonnes of tech/varied posts in my main subscribed feed and I’ve never noticed anything other than a minimal dose of drama…Facebook or Reddit are much more toxic in comparison which is part of the reason I left those places.

I just wiped Windows from my drive yesterday and committed to Fedora after dualbooting for 15 years…I’ve been maining Fedora for a while and always kept Windows around “just in case”, but never actually seemed to need it. This recall/AI spyware was it for me though. Gaming has been a breeze for a while on Fedora/Linux due to Steam/Proton…such a great feeling to finally be completely rid of Windows!

Voyager: S3, Ep. 23, “Distant Origin” is one of my absolute favs. It follows the team’s interactions with a not-so-alien race and the friction in their culture between science/academia and religion. I love Voyager overall, but this episode had me on the edge of my seat.

There are other privacy-respecting trackers that could be used for app improvement. At the end of the day, Google profits from the data collected here, and Lemmy has a big community of users looking to avoid this. Tangentially, Google also has massive contracts with the Israeli military that have recently come under fire in the news…just another reason to use different app-improvement trackers if the goal is to truly boycott/divest, etc.

Day old account with tonnes of down votes and attacking people just trying to help…you are very clearly a troll. Also, I must be a guy since I’m commenting about tech? 🙄
I’ve been using Fedora (gnome) as my main distro for over 5 years and have zero issues with stability. Webcam, etc., all work by default with no problems. Would definitely recommend!
