Finally got a chance to look into the Boox and wanted to say thanks for the suggestion!
Currently broke of course, but this looks like it would do everything the Ink Console would of and then some. There’s a version of Zork (all) on the Play store as well!

Both, so I will assume I am being unrealistic. :(

Are there any tablets good for old text adventures games?
There was the Ink Console coming out, but that seemingly died off.

I really enjoyed her interview on the podcast, “The Retro Hour”, as well as various articles in Retro Gamer Magazine. She seemed like a kind, quirky soul.
A tremendous loss to retro gaming, I think she talked about having lots of old documentation for companies she worked at throughout her career, now mostly all defunct. Hopefully a gaming museum will handle care of those items at some point. R.I.P.

Yep!
An every time I was in Toy r Us, Babbage’s, Children’s Palace or looking througu the JC Penny’s Christmas catalog, I thought it was the coolest thing in the world and oh so desperately wanted it…despite not owning a Game Gear…😅

After years of saying I think a good 1080p TV, playing a good quality media file, looks just as good on any 4k TV I have seen, I now feel justified…and ancient.

These ads were in every gaming magazine I read back in the day. EGM, GamePro, Nintendo Power, etc.
My friends and I never called any of them even once due to fear of parents+phonebill. We all understood that at a very young age, ha.
I even had one rich kid friend, he never called these lines even.
Definitely a disappointment. As another poster stated, putting retroarch on a tablet pretty much accomplishes the same thing.

The fact that some people are ok with, “subscriptions taking off” in this very post is troubling.
The future, where you own nothing, pay a subscription for everything.

I posted on Lemmy about needing recommendations for movies to watch on shrooms…and then minutes later stumble across this article.
Talk about perfect timing, lol.
This is really starting to feel like a perfect replacement for that…other website.

It is very nice to see Mozilla doing quite useful/helpful projects from time to time.
Lol. They are a shit company. (Microsoft & Malwarebytes)
The future:
“Malwarebytes has flagged your entire operating system as potential malware”
Lol… :/

You’re the type that gets excited every time postage stamp prices increase.

Hmm, your statement just made me ponder sort of the opposite…
I wonder if keeps any plans/videos on his phone of sites he has/is worked/working at.

That’s super interesting (given the post context).
I’m going to have to knock this out already then, I’m off work for a week. If I can finish The Hobbit in a day, I can do the same here!
Thank you for the response, I’ll try and report back if I actually keep up my current motivation.

I have a friend that uses Tiktok. He has never posted a video on there, just watches crap.
He went to bed one night in August and mentioned that overnight, as he slept, the Tiktok app sent/received 8.6 gbs of data as he slept, the app was closed, screen locked.
I can only imagine what the Tiktok app does if you have a son/daughter with Tiktok on their phone (whether you know or not) and work for a state/federal government.
Very unsettling.

Yeah, I love looking at homes or lots of land for sale (rarely, for is depressing, ha), find something appealing (though generally still unaffordable), proceed to search for the address and wham-o! - HOA with monthly to annual fee. Plus bonus stipulations of what you can/cannot do to both the interior/exterior.

All valid points. Thanks for mentioning, “mortgage poor”. It’s amazing how many people think that’s the solution to rent…when you’re typically agreeing to pay, essentially rent, for 30 years.
An everyone who gets a mortgage, with rare exception, OF COURSE, believes it will be paid off well before they are anywhere near 30 years. Seemingly forgetting that health issues, social issues, weather events, etc are likely going to stop that from happening.
This post just keeps getting more bleak, lol…
Playing Sonic Spinball in memory of Retro Gamer Magazine editor Nick Thorpe.
R.I.P. Nick, I enjoyed 10+ years of your articles, humor, love of all things Sega and occasional personal stories. You will be missed.
