    some writers don’t like to use the same word on adjacent sentences, the title had shot, so they chose hit for the subtitle

      Could’ve gone with murdered or fatally wounded. Of course it’s all half measures when it’s still passive voice. The right play is “<person> fatally wounded <person> when they chose to unleash their rage in a fit of ego.”
