Pedophilia is a psychological disorder where an adult feels sexual attraction to a pre-pubecent child. Ephebophilia is the same but for young teens. Neither is a crime as long as the person doesn’t act on their desires. If you are burdened by those urges, manage to contain them and never act on them, thank you for not being a monster.
Epstein was not a monster because he was a pedophile or an ephebophile he was a monster due ro his actions. Epstein was a fucking predator. He and his cronies preyed on the youth and exploited them. I bet most of those fucks aren’t even burdened by pedophilia or ephebophilia. Their real turn on is power and the abuse of it. Whether the victims were 5 or 50, none of it makes it any better.
Megyn Kelly and the rest of MAGA are completely ignoring the real crimes and horrors while focusing on sematics.
And to extend on your well written comment, it doesn’t need to be even a sexual thing. Even if Epstein would have never touched any of his victims, he was a piece of shit that enabled other predators by providing access to people to abuse. They had a network of human trafficking, there’s no way to excuse that, and those that used that network knowingly and willingly are equally to be blamed, it doesn’t matter what age those people were.
I agree wholeheartedly with your post, but I do want to clarify that only pedophilia is a disorder. Ephebophilia is an attraction to older teens and is not recognized as a disorder because sexual attraction to people who are physically mature is normal. Acting on that attraction as a significantly older person is predatory, but unrelated to any specific mental diagnosis that I’m aware of.

I’m learning so many new words this week. Until now I just called them “kiddie fuckers”, but I understand I was wrong to do that. There is a varied and unique culture here that should be celebrated.
