“We will track your location just this once to mail programmer socks also.”
If I was getting programmer socks in exchange for my personal data I wouldn’t care so much about privacy.
You son of bitch I’m in!
I use Ubuntu btw.
:/
:) It just works.
Depends on what you consider “working”, having my calculator and browser load for a minute or two before being able to do anyting and being unable to keep a specific software version as long as I need to doesn’t really work for me.
Never had those problems! I’ve locked certain software versions before. But, every user has different needs. :)
I am obligated to inform you that I run linux.
I don’t tell EVERYONE. I just tell my coworkers and friends…
I use Arch BTW — just in case if Arch has that in their terms.
somewhat oddly, in the real world, a clause like this would make the program no longer free and open source software
Steam Deck Users be like:
“arch btw”
The first rule of Linux is you talk about Linux. The second rule of Linux is do talk about Linux.
1st rule of Kernel club is you talk about Linux. 2nd rule of kernel club is you never talk about gnu
Ouch, that hurds.
And we obey!
Install Linux, everybody!
You’ll get free cookies
This doesn’t look like Arch.
Debian users will eventually tell everyone, but it’ll take 2 years before they see the question.
Gentoo users would too, but their social skills are still compiling
I use arch btw
You should switch to Bazzite btw
My first lemmy account was on an instance called iusearchlinux.fyi then it just disappeared suddenly and without explanation (admin probably burnt out). Anyway, it was nice to be able to tell people i use arch linux without actually having to tell them. I miss that instance
The server it ran on crashed after an update, and the wiki doesn’t mention recovery of a lemmy instance.
I’m using CachyOS which is based on Arch btw.
I tried it but TF2 wouldn’t launch so I switched to Ubuntu.
I tried it but TF2 wouldn’t launch so I switched to Ubuntu.

If a user doesn’t learn how to manage nvidia proprietary drivers on arch, they probably are in a better home at ubuntu
Assuming that this was the problem…
I installed TF2 on a Mac with only integrated graphics in college and played a ten to twelve FPS slideshow for years.
It was Debian as well.
I’ve been playing it on and off since launch and never got less than 60fps 😅, but generally around 120fps as I had a 3d vision monitor(that didn’t work so well in source games though iirc).
didn’t get as far as seeing a framerate in arch, couldn’t work out why it wasn’t working and gave up 😅
haven’t checked my framerate in Ubuntu but felt like about 144 or something like that
This is actually only in the Arch installer. lmao
arch btw
Q: A crossfit trainer, a vegetarian, and a Baptist Christian walk into a bar. How do we know?
A: They told every god damn person in the bar within the first 5 fucking minutes
What does a crossfitting, vegan, Arch user talk about first?
They probably have a Tshirt
Can also add airplane pilot to that
Oh there’s a long list
Vegetarians aren’t generally animal rights activists
TBF I flubbed the joke it was supposed to be “vegan”
(I’m vegetarian fwiw)
Oh so you’re just slathering all your vegetables in BEE VOMIT??
Yes
