Super Mario Bros. Wonder is being updated with new areas, modes, and characters. Yet, the price of the Switch 2 upgrade pack is too steep for some gamers who aren't interested in multiplayer. Nintendo detractors believe they are regularly asked to pay more for games they already own.

If you knew about the prices, made the decision and are happy. My comment should not be meant for you. Not only that, the article (and my comment) was about the prices regarding the game and their upgrades. The Nintendo console itself was not mentioned (I wonder if you have read the article).
Besides you purchasing the Switch 2 on day one, has no effect on the game prices. If there’s a new game for the Switch 2 and the price is high, you are still paying that high price regardless whether you purchased the console day one or not. Same situation with game upgrades.
Not to mention; The Switch 2 will sooner or later get a sale and others will be able to purchase it for cheaper than the day one price. So again, you mentioning purchasing the console day one has no point.
