It’s difficult to explain why Vladimir Putin wants Trump to bomb Iran or invade Mexico or crush the Venezuelan/Cuban governments once and for all.
But it’s comparatively easy to explain why Marco Rubio would.

Sure. But since Putin is the Big Bad, everything Trump does must be part of Putin’s master plan.
It is not difficult to explain at all. The more chaos Trump creates for the US, and in particular division between the US and its former allies, the better for Putin.
You could make the same argument about Bush Jr in '03 or Obama in '14 or Biden through most of his term.
“President Shits-Himself is doing a bad job, ergo Russia is in control” is pure scapegoating. You’d never know Miriam Adelson or Jared Kushner exist, the way people talk about Putin controlling Donald Trump.
It is possible that all the iran stuff is so Trump can pleasure Netenyahu, because he probably has something that Trump needs.
Trump has to gargle on Netenyahu’s nuts to prevent him from leaking information on him or to allow him to invest in the “rebuilding” of Gaza.

He likely hates the government quite a bit. I’d guess that most Cubans in the US do.
