I’d just wait for the Ryzen 9S PRO Plus 9978.15625X3D-II, it’ll have another 2MB L3 cache and 0.1 GHz higher boost clock
Does it kind of feel like AMD’s starting to beat the horse a little bit?
Like it’s not dead, but I feel like it at least has gotten its first bruise.
The x86 instruction set is made by Intel who are going off the rails. AMD is just one of the last surviving licensees of that set. It’s entirely possible that AMD haven’t decided yet if they are going to continue x86 or pivot to something else and as such have cut back on R&D.
It is starting to feel like Intel’s 14nm+++ days, when they were releasing basically the same chip over and over with minor improvements.
