True but don’t ask what Reynard does next in most of his stories
It always feels like they’re being described to the artist one subject at a time.
“Draw a guy.”
“OK.”
“He’s looking at a snail.”
“Alright, I can fit that in.”
“And he’s being stabbed by a fox.”
“(sigh) …might have given him a different expression if you’d led with that.”
Look medieval artists, art is hard, but surely an expression could be drawn that’s a bit more shocked than “oh bother, I appear to have been stabbed.”
“And by a Fox, no less. Such surprise has hence forth not fell upon me.”
Almost perfect! It’s missing only a knight riding a lobster.

It needs more butt/fart jokes to be truly authentic.
The snail isn’t actually a snail, it’s a cherished mentor known as Snelli “The Snail” Lesnail.
This is so wrong, it should be the fearsome snail running the human through.
