Meanwhile in Canada:

Ah yes Sainsbury’s basics
They are the only brand to sell 12 hotdog buns in a package. But also 8 like other brands.
I kinda dig the aesthetic.
actually savvy business choice. saving money on color ink, and people will buy extra for collecting
people will buy extra for collecting
I can report back but this is going to be the most dystopian I’ll hear this week, maybe month.
“Oh, you don’t have the 2026 B&W Iran petroleum crisis bag? Are you even a real collector?”
it’s true though. look up “depression glass collection”
I vaguely recall a school trip to a museum of this kind of thing but idk where it was. The most memorable part was a kid barfing out the window onto a motorcyclist.
So much conservative winning!
As far as consequences go, this is pretty damn far down the list
Is this international news now? Fascinating. I will prefer black and white packaging actually, I don’t trust whatever they coat packaging with either way though, they spray the part that touches the food with pfas. BPA type stuff on linings (they phased that one out for another toxic one last I heard.) And who knows what else.
