I hate the vertical scroll style simply because most sites implement it as free scroll rather than a paged book. It’s certainly purposeful, but I find it hard to read that way.
Haha, I like the assumption I’m in the wrong age group.
But my point was more that with the vertical scroll setup most sites use doesn’t lock on page to page, meaning it’s easy to scroll too far and loose track of where you were. I guess technically there doesn’t have to be a “page” per say, but all the vertical style content I’ve read is still technically paginated.
Webtoon’s approach vertical scroll is usually pretty good. I’m a big fan of Batman: Wayne Family Adventures so I’ve read the whole series there. Mostly the scrolling flows nicely and as the artists get experienced in the medium they develop techniques to make your eyes flow better up and down, much like comic book artists have developed techniques to move your eyes across the page.

I don’t think this is targeted to our age group at all.
The vertical format is grown in anime and Asian dramas as well.
China is starting to be competitive with vertical short dramas specifically produced for the US market.

Got it.
I generally think of the vertical market niche as under 25, not a large slice of the fediverse.
I don’t see though how vertical pagination is much different than social media on phones, which we’re all fairly accustomed to.
